Environmental Extremism

I’ve been actively engaged in recycling since I was 5 years old.  My brother and I earned Christmas present money by picking up cans and bottles.  That we lived a quarter mile from Oklahoma University’s fraternity row made it not only easy, but a desirable community service.

I have a compost pile and have had for as long as I’ve been a home owner.

I was a Boy Scout and took to heart the admonitions to pack out anything we packed in and to leave a campsite better than we found it.  I teach these things to my troops too.

I believe that we are meant to be good stewards of our natural resources.

Yet, because I do not believe that humans are responsible for “Climate Change” and oppose the various taxation and punishment measures being contemplated to control it, because I find the very idea that a naturally occurring gas (Carbon Dioxide) could be a pollutant to be ridiculous on it’s face, and because I’ve looked into the subject enough to know that water vapor should be a bigger concern (if there were anything to any of it that is) but isn’t only because that would be an impossible sale to the general public…. Those things make me a right-wing kook and a danger to the environment.

I don’t get it.
